Need 'Great' Content?

We regularly host film crews and photographers on our services for professional and commercial purposes - everything from history and science programmes to travel shows and scenic tours of New Zealand.

If you wish to film aboard our Northern Explorer, Coastal Pacific, and TranzAlpine trains, then we'll need a formal application. With safety, privacy, and the well being of our customers and crew to consider, you'll need to be prepared for some considerable paperwork and briefings before you board - so leave plenty of time for organising and planning.

You'll find all the information you need to contact us and start your application below.

Commercial Filming & Photography

Apply to come aboard and film or photograph for commercial or professional purposes

To film aboard our services for commercial and professional purposes, you'll need to apply for consent using the form below.

We will then help you complete the necessary paperwork (insurance and waivers) and organise a member of our team to meet you on the day and run through the safety briefing and help make space for you to film on board.

Please allow plenty of time for us to prepare for your visit (ideally 6-8 weeks for professional productions).

We aim to review and reply to your application within 5 working days.
